Recently upgraded to a solid state disk (they are GREAT BTW). I only got a 120GB, so I have to monitor my space. This thing does the job perfectly. It displays my current free space in the menu bar area and also have nice alerts when I insert external drives. One nice unexpected feature: eject all drives! Love it. If you’re in a situation where you need to monitor your hard drive space, this app is great!

So this is a wonderful app, does what it should, which includes: 1) Shows you a quick glance at the amount of space available for all mounted drives 2) Allows you to individually eject disks or eject all 3) Launch at startup My one complaint about the application is that the “index” (or whatever is used to calculate free space on disks) doesn’t update often enough. I’ve gotten used to glancing up at my menu bar to see how much space I have, and when it’s wrong it throws me off (especially when red). I have this happen every time I re-arrange files between my local and backup drives (which will be exasperated by the fact that I’m putting together my automated backup strategy). Other than the complaint above, it works as advertised!

The latest update is borked. The app launches, Activity Monitor shows that its running... but it is no where to be found. This is despite the fact that the last update specifically says that the latest version has support for El Capitan. Additionally the website and support info no longer works. Prior to this update, the app was solid, but it is a total waste with the latest release. Deleting the app for now...

This app puts your free disk space front and center. I have found disk space on my MacBook air to be a scarce commodity. Having my free disk space displayed is a nice reminder to delete unnecessary files.

As far as menu bar apps are concerned, FreeSpace is about as useful as anything I’ve come across. This was one of the first apps I purchased/installed on my new MacBook Pro, and I highly doubt that there will ever be a time where I don’t instantly install this application upon purchasing a new Mac. Keep up the great work! *Running OS X 10.10.5 -- will update my review accordingly if need be after I’ve updated to El Capitan*

Such a small, unobtrusive and useful little menu app, until update to 10.11.2, and it now sits unresponsive in Activity Monitor. As others have mentioned, the developer website and support page are blank, even though the latest app update wasn’t too long ago. Hope this gets fixed and the developer comes back online; has been a mainstay for years.

I have used this app for for years. it has always been solid doing what I needed it to do with little footprint. However, this latest version consistently hangs on startup when I log in. requiring me to kill the process and maually start it back up. I see that MenuMeters does not support El Capitan due to the security changes, hopefully this is not related.
